We had a traveling physical therapy contract here for three months, so we were able to explore this high desert town in southern New Mexico quite thoroughly. Below are some lists of places to check out if you ever visit or live in the second largest city in New Mexico, Las Cruces.

Places to eat in Las Cruces:
- Pecan Grill and Brewery (get their Pecan amber beer and on Tuesdays it’s pitcher and nachos for $15)
- The Game 1 and 2 (1 near NMSU campus, 2 on the outskirts of town)
- The Players Grill at NMSU golf course (.60 cent taco Tuesday)
- Salud! de Mesilla (order a dozen of their pecan chocolate chip cookies, Saturday they have a good sangria deal)
- Hacienda de Mesilla (rooftop patio with live music on weekends)
- Clair’s Winery (in Mesilla area, classy vibe)
- Luna Rossa (complete the meal with some of their gelato)
- La Posta (in Mesilla area, classic, touristy)
- Sunset Grill at Sonoma Ranch golf course (good Chicken and Waffles for brunch)
- Rasco’s BBQ (hole in the wall, downtown near farmer’s market)
- Rudy’s BBQ (kind of like a Famous Dave’s)
- Farley’s (sports bar)
- Wing Daddy’s (chain with wings and creative drinks i.e. bomb pop margarita)
- Caliche’s (fantastic ice cream spot, we went here way too often!)

- Picacho Peak Brewery (huge outdoor area utilized for events)
- Bosque brewery (near NMSU campus)
- High Desert Brewing (tucked in the older part of town)

- Hike on the Dripping Springs side and the Aguirre Springs side of the Organ Mountains
- Check out the Mesilla area (big cinco de mayo fiesta)
- Golf Sonoma Ranch ($)
- Golf Red Hawk ($)
- Golf NMSU ($)
- Go to a concert at NMSU Pan American center
- Go to Saturday morning farmer’s market downtown (for pecans, pistachios, creative art, and everything else)
- See a movie at Cineport 10 theater (inside the mall, has great meal/movie deals)

Places to live in Las Cruces:
- Casas de Soledad at Sonoma Ranch. This is an awesome gated, apartment complex with a pool, hot tub, workout room, and views of Sonoma Ranch golf course.
