Smartwool socks are our favorite hiking socks! There are lots of options, but we like these thick ones best to decrease blister risk, keep our feet comfy during long hikes, and to help wick that sweat away! Even though these socks are breathable for hiking, they also keep your feet pretty warm at night, so I usually bring a clean pair to put on before sliding into my sleeping bag.

These were my first and only pair of hiking boots so far! I have never gotten any blisters from them (when wearing them with my thick, cushioned Smartwool socks)! They are waterproof which is awesome, so I don’t have to worry about dodging puddles on the trail. I like that they are high tops which gives me a little extra ankle stability. I tend to trip frequently, so I also like the extra rugged toe box!

Adam has very wide feet, so we had to do some serious searching for hiking shoes wide enough for him. He was very excited when he sound these because they stretch well and are very comfortable! They have a cinch instead of laces that tie, making them very easy to tighten and loosen as needed.

These are Megan’s favorite running shoes! She has been getting the updated version each year for about 6 years now! If you are a heel runner, these cushiony gel insoles work very well for that type of strike pattern.

These are great water shoes for either males or females because the straps help them stay on well and they dry quickly.

There are many different types of Superfeet, but we have had the most success with the green ones for general support. Adam wears these in his work, casual, and workout shoes. We have also recommended them to several patients as an over-the-counter option before splurging on custom orthotics.

Comfy active socks: If you’re looking for a pair of comfortable ankle socks, these are great! They have extra cushion to decrease your chance of getting blisters and they have a bumper so they don’t slide down in your shoes! The are for both men and women.
