Finding Housing
- When trying to find housing, always take the housing stipend provided for you. Never take the traveling agency’s housing options. First, you most likely will find a place just as good if not better, and second, you get to take home much more money through the stipend if you find cheaper housing.
- If a location intrigues you, investigate the community more. From the house/apartment rental you are looking at, to how far of a drive would it be to your workplace?
- During the housing process, use tools like Zillow, Airbnb, and apartments.com. When you like a spot, call their office and explain your traveling situation. More likely than not, they will bend the rules for you if their policy says no shorter than six-month leases and you’ll only be there for three months. You may just have to pay a slightly higher rent per month.
